I’m Joey, Founder of Efficacy Life Coaching. I'm a health and wellness coach. I specialize in relationships, and mind, body, soul integration through habit building. My story is a tale of Strength Through Failure. My purpose is to turn my mess into a message. To be of service. To inspire and support people to help themselves in getting more of what they desire out of life.I am an Alcoholic and a Drug Addict. I’m in recovery, as of August 20, 2009. I have been free from all substances from that day forward. However, my journey has not been a direct line. Like life, it has been cyclical in nature. In my recovery, there have been many ups and downs, plateaus, failures, and quantum leaps. I battled depression, anxiety, and food addiction in recovery. In March 2015 I hit another bottom. Weighing an obese 415 pounds and sicker than I have ever been mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I was given the gift of desperation yet again. I committed to taking back control of my life. I’ve done that, with a lot of help from coaches, mentors, spiritual advisers, and Higher Forces of all kinds. I’ve fallen and failed, countless times. I climbed back up again and again learning vital lessons along the way. Today I am living a healthy, robust, life of purpose. My Life Force is stronger than it has ever been. This makes me uniquely qualified to help others to traverse the same territory. To avoid many of the pitfalls and to do it smarter and faster. I am an expert craftsman. My entire adult life, I have made a living creating and building high-end custom furniture. A craft I have always found a great deal of passion, challenge, joy, and creative expression in, even during some of the darkest times of my life. Several years ago, I found myself uninspired, stifled creatively, and unfulfilled. I confided in a trusted mentor of mine to ask for some guidance. As if waiting for that moment, he told me “Joe, look at what you have overcome. You have completely transformed your entire life for the better. It's miraculous! You are doing the world a disservice if you do not share, teach, and help others to do the same!” I felt a spark! It was out of that spark that Efficacy Life Coaching was born.
