I've been working with web applications since my first job with a local small business in 2013. In the 10+ years since then I have worked with a variety of technologies, but my roots in software as a service and web applications stay strong.At DUMAC I championed the migration from ASP Web Forms to ASP.NET MVC, an effort that was required if we wanted to stay up-to-date with Microsoft's .NET offerings. As part of this migration, I designed, developed, and owned an internal library which improved developer efficiency and promoted consistency in how we displayed report data to the end-user. Utilizing the library, my team was able to reduce the time to implement a new report by 50% - this meant we had more time to focus on improving security and performance to bring customer experience to the next level.When NCR bought the SBOnet product from DUMAC, I migrated the on-premises web servers to the Azure cloud with proper server templates that allowed for scaling. I also wrote a windows service using WPF and C# which was able to schedule and execute SBOnet reports, including balancing between a dynamic number of nodes. This solution was able to save time compared to the previous windows service, which required manual onboarding and load balancing as well as additional compatibility layers to execute newer reports.At Amazon, I worked on the Retail Awareness, Third Party creative template, and Standard Display ad experience. These used a variety of technologies, but the most important was AWS Lambda. We used Python, Java, and TypeScript in a serverless environment to respond quickly to end-user demand. I had the opportunity to reduce our false out-of-stock detection, document the third party creative parser, and set up the validation logic for Standard Display.
