I specialize in Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) and Building Information Modeling (BIM). This includes modeling, cross-trade coordination, drawing production, as-built (record) documentation, and more for design teams, construction teams, owners, and facility management (FM) teams. At IKERD, I've been blessed to work on construction projects of all sizes and types with a wide variety of software and in collaboration with many different project teams. Over the years, MEP systems have become my primary focus, though I've also managed exterior/skin coordination, modeled and produced shop drawings for curtain wall, led architectural model and drawing production teams, helped manage over 1 million sq-ft of Laser Scanning (reality capture) for modeling and documentation of existing conditions, aided in laser scanning research and journal writing, aided in writing expert reports, assisted in the development of BIMForum's LOD specifications, and more. Applications I have used most are: Autodesk BIM 360 for cloud model hosting (Document Management) and coordination (Model Coordination); Autodesk Revit for modeling, coordination, and drawing production (including fabrication level content); Autodesk Navisworks for coordination; Autodesk Point Layout for providing point layouts of items such as hangers and structural penetration locations that can be shot in the field with a robotic total station; some Autodesk Fabrication CADmep for modeling, coordinating, and fabrication drawing production.
