I supervised a Union crew of 17, managing daily job assignments, ensuring compliance, handling maintenance tasks, and coordinating emergency responses. Our responsibilities covered approximately 800 miles of cast iron, steel, and polyethylene natural gas mains, as well as approximately 25,000 (and growing) service lines across 26 cities and towns in Maine.

As part of my role, I estimated costs for new service and main installations, projected expenses for a 14-year cast iron replacement program, and maintained regular coordination with 25 municipalities in southern Maine. I collaborated with local construction and paving contractors, as well as the state Department of Transportation (DOT), to monitor State and City/Town Capital Improvement Program (CIP) schedules and oversee road repair and replacement initiatives. Additionally, I provided cost estimates, supervised projects, and offered field support for large engineering endeavors, drawing on my project management and geological expertise. During this period, I also led ground-penetrating radar surveys (GPR) to locate underground utility lines and conducted pre-construction scans to identify unknown subsurface structures and utilities as needed.

Perform, supervise and manage field activities for: hydro-geologic investigations, petroleum tank removal assessments, air, soil and groundwater monitoring projects, well drilling, soil excavation, work scope and budget preparation, report writing, background research, coordination and supervision of contractors, VRAP preparation, vapor intrusion investigation, sub-slab radon vent installation, installation-operation and maintenance of soil and groundwater remediation systems, implementation of remediation programs, storm water construction project management, and billing. That's a mouthful, yikes.
