I worked in TNT’s Digital department. Collaborating with an international mix of designers, UXers and creatives, I wrote copy for FedEx and TNT’s websites, apps and digital campaigns. My words were translated into 37 languages and read in over 200 countries.Selected highlights...- Devised the concept and copy for a digital ad campaign that drove huge numbers to a new TNT booking tool - Produced the messaging and content strategy for the vital launch of FedEx’s latest booking tool- Lead copywriter for myTNT 2 launch campaign including emails, banners, landing pages, social posts and an internal microsite- Developed new tone of voice guidelines for TNT more in line with its new digital outlookSince FedEx took over the company in the summer, I've also been working as lead copywriter on a top secret digital project I couldn't possibly speculate about on here.

Barnaby Benson Copywriting is an independent writing and branding agency based in London. Barnaby runs The Guardian’s prestigious copywriting masterclasses. While there, I worked directly for major clients and in house for brands and agencies as a de-facto freelancer.Selected highlights...Wrote for dozens of major brands including Coca-Cola, Samsung, Barclays, HSBC, Land Rover, Rolls Royce, Next, Investec, Deloitte, Paddy Power, Shell, Freshfields and Arup. - Penned the copy for the launch campaign of the new Range Rover including emails, posters, social posts and a microsite. The car smashed sales records. (I can’t take all the credit.)- Had multiple articles about writing published in The Guardian. Each one was shared more than 3,000 times.- Devised the tone of voice concept that won the Next account — the UK’s largest fashion retailer — for the agency. Was then the go-to writer for the brand producing everything from concepts for brochures to product copy and everything in between.- Wrote a 12,000 word book for a major bank as part of a massive internal campaign. A big hit in London, it was reprinted for the NY office.- Managed two other copywriters. I was in charge of briefing them, providing creative direction and feeding back on their work. - Helped rebrand Imperial College London around the concept of disruption. Produced digital ads, a banner campaign and completely rewrote their website and brochures.- Started and maintained the agency’s social media and blog.

On retainer at this respected London communications agency, working on their Freshfields account. Freshfields are the world’s sixth largest law firm. I wrote the firm’s alumni communications, including a monthly online magazine, microsite and promotional emails.Selected highlights - Collaborated with the firm’s marketing department to devise the concept for each magazine edition - Interviewed illustrious alumnus including an actual Knight of the Realm, a couple of British politicians, a Wimbledon line judge and a member of Barack Obama’s staff.

Carl Prechezer has directed films starring Ewan McGregor and Catherine Zeta-Jones. He was nominated for an Oscar for his short film, The Cutter. He now directs TV shows and commercials. I was his writing assistant for two years on a retainer basis.Selected highlights...- Captured Carl’s vision for adverts in pitch documents. Helped win pitches for Fiat, Muller and Samsung, among others.- Wrote a wry monthly blog for Carl which had over 1,000 subscribers.- Worked with an illustrator to create a bespoke cartoon for each blog post.
