Joe is president & chief executive officer of Schauer Group, Inc. He joined the company in 2004 upon graduation from John Carroll University and was named president & CEO in 2021. His focus is on stewarding the independent risk management and insurance advisory firm to provide the highest level of expertise and service to our clients. He is dedicated to attracting and retaining top talent to the company and building a culture of high performance, strong integrity, and deep commitment to the communities where our associates live and work. He specializes in building risk management and insurance strategies for the manufacturing, construction, distribution, and human/social services industries.His designations include the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), obtained in 2007, and Associate in Risk Management (ARM), obtained in 2010. Joe also attended both the Cincinnati Insurance School and The Hartford School of Insurance.He is vice chairman of both Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton and Stark Economic Development Board. Joe is an advisory board member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and he previously served as co-chairman for the 2022 United Way of Greater Stark County Annual Campaign, chairman of ystark!, executive committee for the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce, chairman of the Eric Snow YMCA, past director for ArtsinStark, and is a graduate of the 22nd class of Leadership Stark County.Joe was selected as one of Business Insurance Magazine’s top 40 Under 40 Insurance Brokers in 2014, was a recipient of the YMCA’s Red Triangle Award in 2013, received the YMCA Volunteer of the Year Award in 2011, and was named to ystark! Twenty under 40! in 2009. Joe is married with two daughters.
