About Joseph Somerdin

I have been interested in engineering for as long as I can remember. At 12 I was learning graphic design, creating video promos and eye-catching logos with Adobe After Effects and Illustrator. At 15 I was building robots to compete in competitions like FIRST and SeaPearch. Nowadays I'm working in software development. I am mostly interested in low-level programming and backend development, though I've done lots of projects involving frontend work. I am most comfortable with C++ but have experience with Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and more. My versatility allows me to accomplish any task I am put up to, whether that be building an interactive web app with React, working on server-side REST API routes, implementing a complex algorithm in C++, crafting an attention-grabbing modern advertisement in Photoshop, designing a complex robot in SolidWorks, or even creating catchy music in Fl Studio and Ableton Live. I have experience with Agile software development and work well in group settings. If you want high-quality efficient code, I am the one for you.
