About Joseph Templet
I am a student at the Colorado School of Mines currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Quantum Engineering and recently graduated with my Bachelors degree in Engineering Physics. As both an Engineer and Physicist, I look forward to applying my skills, knowledge, and experience to the problems facing quantum information science and technology. I currently collaborate with Dr. Kyle Leach and Dr. Stephan Fredrich on the BeEST experiment and previously worked on the SuperCDMS collaboration at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. Much of my experience pertains to superconducting technologies, quantum metrology, and semiconducting detectors.Besides physics, I enjoy hiking, skiing, and playing the French horn. Currently, I am the President of the Mines Philharmonic Orchestra, Treasurer of the ΤΒΠ Engineering Honors Society, and an active member of the Society of Physics Students, Society of Quantum Engineers, and the ΣΠΣ Physics Honors Societ

Engineering Physics Intern At Slac: Fundamental Physics Directorate
The SuperCDMS HVeV is a 2-channel, TES-based detector that aims to use electron recoil within carbon-based substrates to detect particle-like dark matter. Previous research into particle-like dark-matter detection, mainly the search of WIMPs, has narrowed the search to low energy parameter regimes with interaction events on the order of single electron.
