I lead a team of financial modelers and analysts who quantify the consumer and investor impacts of the energy transition.

Directed and coordinated utility regulatory analytical work in service of department campaigns and broader organizational goals. Served as the primary point for coordinating UCS's utility regulatory work at state PUCs, ISO/RTOs, and FERC. Led research and advocacy efforts to shape federal, regional, and state electricity markets, regulations, and policies to develop an equitable electricity system, one that is reliable, clean, and affordable. This included developing policy positions around utility regulation and power market rules.

Worked on efforts to modernize power grids and helps advance science-based public policy around renewable energy at the state and regional levels. Led UCS's research and advocacy efforts at state public utility commissions. His analysis helped shape electricity markets and policies to develop a more flexible and modern electric grid that can accommodate high levels of renewable energy, demand-side resources, and electric vehicles while reducing carbon emissions and reliance on fossil fuels.

Responsible for leading the analysis of federal regulations and rules on the electric sector with a focus on impacts on the fossil fleet. Lead analyst on natural gas topics, fossil economics, and energy markets. Supports work associated with analyzing clean energy. Responsible for internal data verification, reviewing press releases, speeches, legal comments, donor reports, and national reports. Builds models and databases for internal use within the Beyond Coal Campaign, Dirty Fuels Campaign, and Electric Vehicle Campaign. Conducts analysis in support of the Environmental Law Program and the Federal Policy team.Highlights: - Sponsored testimony regarding the proposal to delay implementation of the proposed Effluent Limitation Guidelines - Provided technical expertise in a declaration to the federal court in Sierra Club et. al. v. FERC (USCA Case #16-1329) - Conducted economic analysis and wrote the accompanying report about how coal distorts the SPP energy market

Provided consulting and researching services and assisted in writing testimony and reports on a wide range of issues related to the electric industry. Uses industry-standard economic models to evaluate long-term energy plans and the environmental and economic impacts of policy/regulatory initiatives. Built financial models for individual electric generating units and conducted broader economic analysis of industry. Completed three major contracts as a consultant:1) Internal case studies on clean tech development: Each case study focused on specific policies, programs, and organizations that were contributing to the community's transition to a economy that was more reliant on clean technology. Authored case studies on cities in United States, Germany, Malaysia, and Israel.2) ETG firm wide charrette on Sustainable Development Model: Worked with senior analysts, consultants and other ETG members in helping devise a new economic model for cluster development that incorporate sustainability efforts. 3) Kathmandu Valley Tourism Cluster Competitiveness Assessment and Action Plan: Was responsible for compiling economic data, drafting analysis, and designing figures, charts and graphs to help explain and outline ETG's action plan for this World Bank and AusAID contract.

Investigated consequences of state policy changes related to wind turbine citing regulations, initiated research for a report to quantify jobs created by Wisconsin wind and solar energy industries, and analyzed USDA grant data on renewable energy provisions of the 2008 Farm Bill.

Developed strategies for targeted fundraising events including direct mail solicitations, phone banking and internet fundraising campaigns, database management of fundraising activities, bookkeeping related to phone banking and associated staff, and managing interns and volunteers during fundraising events. Additionally, assisted in the fundraising for, and running of, the 2010 Eleanor Roosevelt Tribute Event. Supervised the election night phone-bank for Wisconsin State Senate and Assembly committees.

Presented urban sustainability case studies and best practices to the mayor, deputy mayor, and city council. Worked with public- and private-sector partners to define metrics for a governmental Green Business Certification Program. Investigated U.S. and European greenhouse gas emission reduction policies and programs for application in Tel Aviv.

Worked as project manager, defined and monitored performance metrics, analyzed project performance, calculated energy and cost savings related to efficiency upgrades, consulted with customers on reducing environmental impacts of facilities.

Beta tested modeling program to calculate fugitive emissions and set up an interface macro for EPA and permit compliance reports. I also assisted in the development and implementation of cost optimization projects related to steam usage efficiency studies.
