With over 20 years of experience in physics, software, and education, I am the Owner of TECHNEXT, a company that creates smart sensors for the security industry, wireless and IP telemetering for environmental and energy control, and educational telemetry workstations and micro-robots for children and students. My mission is to move from the past videosurveillance to the multisensorial surveillance robot, using my patented sensor called SPIRIT, which can detect, locate, and track a human being with a low-cost and ultra-low-power technology and guide a video camera towards the intruder. I have published multiple papers on this revolutionary sensor and its applications in homeland security and outdoor intrusion detection. I also lead a group on sensors for geolocation and collaborate with experts in building automation, Linux, and robotics.
