José Ramón Sierra is a Spanish architect and founding partner at PRÁCTICA. He graduated with Distinction from the Masters of Architecture at Harvard University Graduate School of Design, and obtained a Masters and a Bachelors of Architecture from the Technical School of Architecture of Madrid (ETSAM). José Ramón Sierra has previously collaborated with multiple international offices such as David Chipperfield Architects and Sergison Bates Architects in London, Rafael Moneo in Madrid or Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects in New York.José Ramón has taught as Studio Instructor at Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA, USA, and has held a Teaching Assistant position at Harvard University GSD, Cambridge, MA, USA. He has also served as Studio Critic at Columbia University GSAPP (New York), MIT (Cambridge, MA), the Architectural Association (London), IE University (Madrid) and IAAC (Barcelona).His professional work has been widely exhibited in various renown international exhibitions such as the Venice, Spain and Chile Architecture Biennials, and the Lisbon Architecture Triennial. It has also been published in magazines like Arquitectura (Colegio Superior de Arquitectos de Madrid), Neutra (Colegio Superior de Arquitectos de Sevilla) or ARQ (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile).José Ramón was been awarded with the 2021 Emerging COAM Award, an honorary mention at the 2021 COAS Architecture and Society Awards, an honorary mention at the 2021 Andalusia Architecture Awards and with the 2019 Romanian Building Award. He obtained a GSD Grant and a Real Colegio Complutense Fellowship on two consecutive years at Harvard University.He has given several lectures at Harvard University, the Technical School of Architecture of Madrid, the University of Seville or the International University of Andalusia.
