Jose R. López is a computational design scientist whose research focuses on exploring the intersections between science, technology, art, culture & society.López is co-founder and director of Deep Design Systems, an applied AI research company that seeks to enable a future in which cutting-edge technology, through conceptual design protocols, is responsibly applied to help humans solve complex problems that would be impossible to solve otherwise.Lopez holds a professional degree in industrial design engineering, a master's degree in vehicle design from RCA and several minor degrees in computer science and AI programming (Coursera- Stanford, IBM). In 2021 he dropped his PhD in Computational Design (Robotics + Industrial Engineering) at UdC, being the thesis topic related to Swarm Logic and Programmable Matter to fully focus on DDS development.In his previous life he worked in several design & innovation offices for firms such as Bertone, Pininfarina, Lexus, Toyota or McLaren.
