I started by being just one more worker. Go to the line and pick up the donuts, go to the line and pack up the bread. Little by little I kept learning everything about the job until one year after I started I was already fixing the machines, printing the labels for the products, writting the records for the products that were packed and sent to the truck drivers during my shift and by the end of my journey I even did the coordinator job for 2 weeks due to the forthmentioned going on holidays.I learnt a lot about how important working as a team is and how easy it is for all the work to start failing by the smallest problem.

I started working knowing nothing. Most of the time washing the dishes, cleaning the cutlery and also helping in the cooking of things, but always only following orders. After my first 3 weeks, I was already able to run a third of the kitchen by myself, learning all the different preparation for every item in the menu. I really enjoyed my team there thanks to my workmates and their positive energy. From my 6th month to the end of my time working there I started teaching the new staff how everything was done, what ingredients every dish contained, how to prepare it, how to clean the kitchen after close. I was even coordinating the kitchen 2 of every 5 shifts for the last 2 months.I really learnt how important cleanliness is and the need of active communication during the job to avoid misunderstandings and make everything work smothly.

This internship was tought. I hadn't done any software programming before I arrived and it was my first time in a foreign country. There was a misunderstanding between my employer and my institute causing the employer to believe I was a 3rd year Software Developer, when I was in fact a Systems Administrator. By force of need, I had to learn from scratch to program C++ since I was working with Arduinos and, even though I didn't know it at the time, that was the time when I started thinking about a career as a Software Developer. That was half of the time.The other half of the time was testing a couple of websites that were still in production. I think I did a good job at that since every day I could find 5-10 errors that appeared as a result of the team solving the previous 5-10 errors.Those three months were a difficult time for me but I believe they make me realise what I really wanted to do with my working life.
