I began my career studying Quantity Surveying at FNU. But then, I stumbled upon AutoCAD in a computer lab, and it sparked my interest. Within three months, I not only learned it but started installing it on other students' laptops for a small fee. That was my first taste of tech entrepreneurship. Later, I switched to Electronic Engineering, where I learned to fix hardware issues for laptops and other gadgets. This inspired me to start my own business, JuniorJoe Entertainment, focusing on internet services, black-and-white printing, and gaming for PlayStation. In 2013, I joined Nutech, where I got hands-on experience with A3 and A4 printing machines. It wasn't just about operating them; I delved into assessing their capabilities, giving advice to customers, and setting up printers on existing networks. This also meant dealing with the ins and outs of networks, from accessing servers to checking device connections. I even used a tool called Nmap to keep track of network protocols. My journey has been a mix of learning design software, fixing hardware issues, and understanding how networks function. It's not just about technology; it's about solving real-world problems and adapting to the ever-changing tech landscape. During lockdown due to COVID19 i started learning how to code. Learning to code is like embarking on a fascinating journey in Fiji. You begin by constructing the foundation of a website with HTML, adding style with CSS, and making it interactive with JavaScript. It's okay to make mistakes; they're part of the learning process. Tools like Tailwind CSS simplify the design process. Python comes in handy for more advanced tasks on the internet, and Git helps keep track of your work. Being part of a community, like on platforms such as Stack Overflow, means you can get assistance when needed. Each project you undertake helps you improve and gain confidence. It's not just about writing code; it's about solving problems and being patient. The journey of learning to code is like a captivating trip, transforming you into someone adept at navigating the world of technology in Fiji. I just began, excited about the future.
