He holds a BA in Economics from UCLA and an Executive MBA from the University of San Francisco, where he was the recipient of the Dean's Excellence in Scholarship Award to recognize superior academic performance.With over 20 years in financial services, Jose is an experienced financial advisor, investor, and entrepreneur. His focus is the financial and professional success of his clients. Jose enjoyed stints at Smith Barney, Charles Schwab, and Ameriprise before serving as Executive Vice President/Director of Wealth Management at an independent wealth advisory firm and alternative investment manager.Today, Jose leads Silicon Beach Wealth Management. Jose’s interests in diversity, access, and inclusion guide his participation in impact investing and his service on nonprofit boards. He is a member of the P.S. Arts Board and participates on the governance and executive committees. He is past president of the UCLA Latino Alumni Association. Jose also serves on the advisory board of BlueReef Capital, a social-enterprise dedicated to improving access to quality investment management services for US Hispanic, African-American, and other historically disadvantaged communities. Jose and his wife Lisa, a college professor and art historian, reside in Santa Monica with their two children. In his spare time, Jose enjoys running, tennis, jazz music, visiting local museums, reading nonfiction, and cheering on his beloved UCLA Bruins and LA Dodgers.
