Managed the maintenance staff to include hiring, training, and developing the staff to meet the needs of the department. Provided leadership, consultation, and guidance regarding maintenance expenditure projects, cost efficiencies, process development, modification, and facility maintenance. Developed and deployed maintenance improvement programs and projects that improved the plant and equipment performance. Promoted safety and demanded it from the maintenance organization. Developed long-range strategic plans to ensure maintenance requirements are accomplished. Manage the maintenance management system. Ensured preventative and predictive maintenance was completed and the records are maintained on all assets.

Responsible for all financial purchasing and budgeting aspects of the department, to meet/beat fiscal budget goals and continue to enhance department efficencies while reducing costs. Managed staff to include review process, disciplinary actions, staffing and termination of employees in department. Maintained facility, ammonia systems, material handling equipment, and all other mechanical assets. Updating and following through with all government mandated programs “PSM, SOP, & MIP”. Chairperson to set goals and performance objectives for Safety Committee programs as it related to the entire facility. Implemented procedures for employees. Successfully handled regulatory inspections i.e., OSHA, DNREC, Dept. of Agriculture, ASI and the LEPC. Revised and implemented a written Mechanical Integrity Program into the maintenance program for better documentation, accountability, equipment and program management. Hands-on trainer, mechanic fill-in and troubleshooter whenever needed.
