Following a promotion, I became the Finished Product Coordinator at II-VI. My responsibilities became more focused towards the management of finished products from inventory to customer receipt, and I have been responsible for the safe delivery of over 100M units. I have ownership of the shipping and logistics function within the Newton Aycliffe site.The role involves close internal liaison with the Planning and Customer Service functions and requires strong working relationships to be established and maintained with external shipping providers. I am also the shipping lead for secure shipments and have undertaken a direct role in procedural improvements for these regulated movements. In addition to this, I am responsible for supply chain forecasting and purchasing of raw materials and consumables required to sustain production. This responsibility began in my previous role as Materials Controller and has been developed through my time as Finished Product Coordinator.

Following an internal application, I started the role of Materials Controller within the Purchasing/Supply Chain department. This role comprised the management of Goods In, as well as elements of shipping and logistics. I have built upon these elements within my role as Finished Product Coordinator. I was responsible for inventory management, raw material forecasting and purchasing as well as shipping. I also assisted with elements of production planning through our MES system. I also assisted with the testing and implementation of a new ERP system (Oracle) with focus on the supply chain elements, acting as the SME for the site. I undertook Counterbalance Forklift training and I am certified until March 2026. I became involved with secure shipments, which required SC clearance to be obtained.

I joined II-VI on a temporary contract as a Project Assistant. This position was focused on capacity planning and data analysis to identify potential production constraints for future production lines and products. I undertook this role within a highly controlled cleanroom environment.
