The primary purpose of the Freight Broker role is to identify and develop working relationships with third party carriers in order to secure full truckload coverage of customer-awarded freight. This role requires that the incumbent possess a strong sales acumen to lead opportunities for division growth and to driver profitable company margins.• Establish and maintain a portfolio of reliable carrier relationships to ensure success in meeting customer shipping needs.• Ensure accurate and timely movement of freight in designated lanes within the customer's level of service standards.• Maintain solid understanding of current market conditions and business needs to negotiate competitive rate agreements with carriers.• Assign loads and monitor freight movement in assigned markets according to capacity, customer requirements and carrier availability.• Ensure that all appropriate customer and carrier information is complete before any load is tendered to ensure streamlined communication across all levels.
