As an intern at Consumers Energy I performed a variety of tasks while working full-time during the summer and part-time during the school year. When I was first hired fresh out of high school I was brought in to overhaul the filing system at my headquarters to reduce audit infractions related to misplaced documents. After that I began working on a number of tasks including procedure writing to standardize work practices, performing site assessments to help develop a work plan, creating job aids to train employees, performing internal compliance audits, creating and interpreting spreadsheets, creating work forms for better documentation, participating in Michigan Public Service Commission audits, maintaining document control management, emergency plan verification and training of new interns.
