Engineering lead within Automotive 2 grinding for Transmission and MCB product at Peterlee Bearing plant. Responsibilities include overall management of multiple process steps for inner and outer ring components of a bearing. Total number of machines 77 comprising of surface grinders, centre-less grinders, internal plunge grinders, cylindrical grinders and super-finish honing machines as well as additional product transportations and essential plant systems. Management of a twelve strong production support team, including engineers, technicians and service support, to ensure SQCDP KPIs are achieved whilst continuously improving process operations by utilising lean manufacturing techniques. Heavily involved in personnel management including performance appraisals, welfare support and sickness management, interviews and recruitment processing, succession planning, development through training and overtime control.

The role involved general production support including mechanical fitting, product type changes, fault finding and breakdown support, new product/prototype sampling, tooling design and testing, consume-able stock control and cost down, low level involvement in capital expenditure and continuous improvement projects.
