Melitus Health is a startup company that develops insulin dosage adjustment software for the diabetes care marketplace. We provide an effective and low cost method to have a variety of healthcare specialists and non-specialists adjust insulin doses. Appropriate changes in insulin doses will improve diabetes control and prevent patients from developing diabetic complications such as, retinopathy, kidney failure and neuropathy, which leads to lower extremity amputations. Widening the type of healthcare providers who can make accurate insulin dose adjustments and avoiding these diabetic complications will markedly lower the overall costs of diabetes care.Our company was founded by Dr. Mayer B. Davidson, a leader in diabetes treatment and research. Dr. Davidson is Professor of Medicine at both the UCLA and Charles R. Drew University. He was President of the ADA in 1997-1998, and has served or is serving on the Editorial Boards of 11 diabetes journals. Dr. Davidson has written 168 scientific papers, 31 book chapters, 59 reviews and 54 editorials and invited articles, and 4 books. He is the main author of Davidson’s Diabetes Mellitus: Diagnosis and Treatment, now in its 5th edition.

Consulted with coin-operated hardware and software companies for the emerging ArcadePC marketplace. Work included reviewing technology, developing game concepts, strategic planning, negotiating with independent software developers, and project managing title development. Developed business plan and prototypes for downloadable digital jukebox, initiated negotiations for music licensing, and product hardware manufacturing.
