I advise and assistant the Chancellor in both the day-to-day running of the campus as well as the setting of the strategic direction of the university. I am responsible for leading all administrative, financial, and operational activities of the Office of the Chancellor. I manage engagements of the Executive Leadership Team and the Cabinet, oversee strategic initiatives, and serve as a liaison to key stakeholders, constituents, and partners. I also continue to represent the university externally as Senior International Officer.

Served as UNL’s Senior International Officer and a member of the Executive Vice Chancellor’s leadership team. Led campus-wide efforts to advance the global aspects of UNL’s land grant mission. Managed the university’s Global Affairs units - Global Partnerships & Initiatives; Global Experiences Office; International Student & Scholar Services; Global Safety & Security; and Programs in English as a Second Language. Coordinated outreach to Congress and provided support to leadership on a range of political, regional, and strategic issues.

Named a Brookings Institution LEGIS Fellow and detailed from the State Department to a personal office of a U.S. Senator. Served as an advisor on foreign policy, national security, and immigration issues, staffing the Senator for Senate Foreign Relations Committee Hearings, business meetings, and briefings and in meetings with Executive Agency officials and foreign governments.

Recruited into federal service through the Presidential Management Fellowship and worked on a range of foreign policy issues in both regional and functional bureaus, including Near Eastern Affairs, International Security & Nonproliferation, and Democracy, Human Rights, & Labor.

During law school, researched issues relevant to immigrants and refugees, including asylum and deportation case law, and drafted legal memoranda and briefs. Conducted client interviews and assisted clients applying for immigration benefits, including naturalization, asylum, and withholding of removal. Attended asylum interviews and immigration court hearings with clients and assisted legal counsel with representation.
