Principal, Client Account Services
A Client Account Services Principal is a back-office operations role responsible for reviewing and approving account registration changes. In order to operate as a principal for Client Account Services, associates must pass the Series 24 and Series 4 qualification exams. On a daily basis a principal utilizes written procedures to analyze client requests while assessing risk to clients and the firm to determine if requirements have been fulfilled. Once fully licensed and trained I processed between 50-100 client requests a day depending on my daily assignments. The following is a selection of items I reviewed - legal power of attorney (POA) and guardianship/conservatorship paperwork, account conversions, adding/removing tenants to accounts, adding/removing margin and options trading privileges to accounts. Communicated decisions to clients and other associates verbally via phone calls and in writing via notes left in work items, chats, and emails.On top of my day-to-day job functions I spent time on my team’s consistency and problem-solving committees. Through these committees I worked as part of a team to ensure principals across the three work sites were handling requests in a consistent manner and addressing common client/associate irritants by identifying and eliminating process waste. Additionally, I demonstrated leadership ability by facilitating team huddles and delivering new hire and ad hoc trainings.
Financial Services Representative
A Financial Services Representative is the first person clients interact with when calling TD Ameritrade for assistance on their account(s). For this role associates go through an initial 3-month training period in which study time is provided for the Series 7 and Series 63 licensing exams. After passing the licensing exams there is a two-week training course to prepare associates for their role taking inbound client calls.Once fully licensed and trained I received between 20-40 inbound calls a day to resolve client issues or provide information related to the financial markets or client accounts. Efficiently established client rapport as shown by strong Customer Service Index (CSI) and Net Advocacy Score (NAS) metrics. Gathered information during calls to answer client's stated and unstated needs generating Business Lead Referrals (BLRs) to help the company's financial consultants better assist clients in future interactions. Left succinct notes based on call interactions to provide history of client's requests and resolved issues.
