Sr. Technical Support Escalation Engineer At Microsoft Developer Azure Services
    Microsoft Jul 2024 - Present
    United States
Continuing my work in the Azure Resource Manager (ARM) Support Team, I was promoted to Sr. Technical Support Escalation Engineer and my role fundamentally did not change other than some additional responsibilities around teaching and internal projects. I am currently working on some internal tooling with a group of Engineers in our team that takes advantage of the Azure AI Services provided by Azure. My role in this group is overseeing the architecture, compliance, deployments and lifecycle management for this application. I also have developed other internal tools for use by our team and for use by other teams related to PowerShell automation scripts and reporting / graphical representation of data with a custom user interface developed in .NET Blazor / C#.I am excited to continue my work in this role providing the highest level of support to Microsoft’s customers in relation to ARM. I am also excited to continue exploring opportunities to assist the team through the development of internal tooling and knowledge sharing with team members.

Technical Support Escalation Engineer At Microsoft Developer Azure Services
    Microsoft Nov 2022 - Jul 2024
    United States
Taking my interests learned from my time on the Azure Rapid Response PaaS Developer team I chose to specialize further into the Azure Resource Manager (ARM) Technologies and really dig my teeth into the specific nuances with ARM, application architecture and resource deployments in Azure, governance in Azure through Azure Policy, and understanding the Azure platform from its core platform provider. In this role I have become a support subject matter expert on the Azure Rest APIs and how each resource provider ties their individual APIs into the ARM platform and how these APIs should function to be compliant with industry standards. Additionally, I have become a support subject matter expert in Azure Policy and Deployment template development and troubleshooting.I’ve been very happy to also be able to teach from this role and I have given a couple of internal training courses for internal tooling and for the AI-900 (Azure AI Fundamentals) certification in the Microsoft Support Organization. I have also given external talks focused on Deployments, Azure Policy, and ARM technologies to .NET user groups around the United States. I am very passionate about Azure Resource Manager and our technology that can help developers get their code into their customer’s hands faster on Azure. I take every opportunity through interactions professionally in my day-to-day work, or externally in my personal time to teach about ARM with any interested people.

Azure Rapid Response Paas Developer Support Escalation Engineer
    Microsoft Feb 2022 - Nov 2022
    Remote
As an Azure Rapid Response Support Engineer, I was responsible for the direct support at the highest levels within Microsoft. The Azure Rapid Response Developer Support team was tasked with providing support for all Azure PaaS Services to a subset of Microsoft's customers. I personally specialized in Azure Resource Manager, Messaging and API Management products but I was responsible for supporting all products we covered on the team. I enjoyed the sometimes-chaotic work, of helping developers from around the world quickly troubleshoot their critical applications running on Azure PaaS Services. Overall, we provided the highest quality developer support for customers integrating with Azure Resource Manager (ARM) and the ARM Rest APIs. Deployment support for ARM Templates, Bicep, Blueprint, and Terraform. Governance support for Azure Policy development and management. Messaging support for Azure Service Bus, Event Hubs, Notification Hub and Event Grid. Search support for Azure Search and AI Search Services. API Management support, Azure Classic Cloud - Cloud Services support, Azure Storage support, Azure Redis Cache support and Service Fabric Support.
  • Conocophillips
    Application Developer
    Conocophillips Sep 2020 - Feb 2022
    Bartlesville, Oklahoma, United States
Specializing in Virtual Assistant Development within the Microsoft Bot Framework in C#, TypeScript, JavaScript, and Node.JS. My role was the lead software developer for this project following SAFe Agile workflows. Our day-to-day work involved intake of asks from the business or development team and the creation of detailed user stories with prioritization and organization through our project / program manager for this service. I used the Azure DevOps platform for tasks, pipelines, repositories and wikis. All pull requests went through a team code review and a safe deployment pipeline through dev, test, qa, and production. During my time on this team, I personally designed and developed several Bot Framework Skills that have been released to production and were being used globally within the company. The Bot Framework Skills I have completed often integrate with Azure Services, Microsoft Graph API, and internal REST APIs to complete functions on behalf of the user and provide services without the need of a service desk employee to get involved. Using my experience from the Capacity and Optimization role that grew my analytical skills, I drove the adoption of PowerBI for telemetry and incident visualization in our organization. I completed the data engineering required for getting the data into PowerBI for these visualizations to be consumed by management.Leverage Pipelines in Azure DevOps for CI/CD including integration with ServiceNow for automated Change Management. Azure DevOps and GIT are key tools we use for managing the Software Development Lifecycle for the bots in our organization.
  • Conocophillips
    Capacity And Optimization Analyst
    Conocophillips Feb 2020 - Sep 2020
I was a contributing member of the Capacity and Optimization team tasked with developing solutions for datacenter capacity in private datacenters as well as Azure and AWS cloud providers. This team uses code repositories, source control, and team code reviews when tasks are completed. I personally contributed using .NET Core, PowerShell, SQL, SSIS and PowerBI. I completed a high priority project to ingest all AWS and Azure billing using the AWS and Azure Rest APIs and PowerShell modules for automation of data collection. Once the raw data was collected, I used a data pipelining process to clean the data, populated the data model, and present it in PowerBI for use by authorized users. This billing data is used for decision making by management at ConocoPhillips and provides a one pane of glass for them to review cloud billing metrics.
  • Conocophillips
    Windows Server Analyst
    Conocophillips Jul 2018 - Feb 2020
    Bartlesville, Oklahoma
I was a contributing member of the Windows Server Team at ConocoPhillips and I specifically managed the development of internal tools for the Windows Server Team's use managing multiple private datacenters with tens of thousands of Windows Server physical and Virtual Machines. Our team was responsible for the operational stability of the Windows Server infrastructure in multiple private datacenters as well as in Azure and AWS cloud environments. I developed several internal tools for use by Windows Server Team engineers while we maintained our infrastructure environment and kept it to the highest standards. I worked within our existing code base for Microsoft PowerShell custom Modules and added many functions for use related to managing virtual machines in Azure, AWS, and VMware environments. One major improvement I helped create was a reusable package to handle authentication and authorization handling environments integrating with Single Sign On. I also developed a Windows Forms .NET application to help monitor and troubleshoot the migration of VMs in a Disaster Recovery situation. This application has a full user interface and can monitor the migration of virtual machines during a Disaster scenario. This application had features like the ability to monitor the Windows Server Virtual Machines for uptime during a migration and the ability to launch a remote desktop session for a troubled VM at the click of a button. I completed an exploratory project to evaluate the adoption of serverless web apps on AWS to develop an infrastructure plan for how to manage the emerging technology at the time. To evaluate the serverless infrastructure I developed an example web site using Angular on top of Node.JS. To develop this application, I utilized AWS's Lambda service for compute and processing data, and Amazon S3 for my static web host. The findings from my evaluation of the serverless platform influenced decisions on how to manage the AWS Cloud infrastructure services.
