8 years experience in design and project engineering, I have experience in the transport and handling industries, creating detailed CAD models and drawings of truck frames, trailers and truck bodywork, along with various CAD models and detail drawings for all things handling. (End effectors, vacuum lifters, Jib cranes, clamp tools, etc.)Alongside my professional experience, I have my hobby experience. Designing custom guitar parts, custom centre caps for alloys and various other designs for 3D printing.As part of my responsibilities for both professional and hobby roles, I have handled projects from start to finish. Starting with an initial design proposal based on customer PO and quote, all the way to arranging installation of my equipment. Since starting at my current role I've picked up a lot of project management experience.My main CAD system is Autodesk Inventor 2024 at Yaplex, however I have experience in Solidworks, Fusion 360 and AutoCAD as well as many older CAD systems. As part of my design engineer roles, I've also picked up knowledge of various FEA systems. Vault is also a big part of managing my drawings / models.Over the years I've also handled certifications for equipment. From VBTA and IVA for trucks to UKCA and CE certs for handling equipment. Along with certification I also provide manuals for my tools and detailed RAMs / DFMEA and ORA documents.3D Printing is my passion and I'm lucky enough to be able to run a couple of printers at my current role. I've managed to turn the printing capabilities around and we have changed our way of designing to incorporate it more. I also run a small laser engraver and a sublimation printer / heat press setup.For those interested in 3D printing, I currently run a Stratasys F370 and a Bambulab X1C at Yaplex. For my personal and own business I also have a X1C.
