Introduction to Geographic Information Systems

• Operated profitable consulting business primarily contracted by the Milford Experimental Forest (in affiliation with the Pinchot Institute for Conservation) and 5 other clients.• For the MEF: Provided services including permanent vegetation sampling; forest inventories; GIS data collection, analysis and map creation; interpretive tours; installation and maintenance of a back crossed American Chestnut orchard; and biological data collection of harvested white tail deer.• For forestry consulting companies: Worked as a subcontractor with 15 private landowners to provide timber sale layouts, forest inventories, stewardship plans and GIS maps. • For a local land trust: Completed baseline documentation and annual conservation easement monitoring, provided GIS support and trained staff members to use ArcGIS software.
