My role on the team involves streamlining the production process while also collaborating with the team to ensure all projects meet our ethos. No day is the same at Eight Engines. One day will require me to be creating social media content for the team. The next day being a camera operator filming a car crash. No day is the same with this team but the one constant is a real passion and expertise with all things video production.

Having worked in a Wetherspoons kitchen for nearly two years now, I have grown apart of the senior leadership team in the kitchen. My role is to communicate effectively and organise other members of the team to ensure food is made with quality and quickly. As a senior member of the team, I am trusted to run shifts by myself when no manager is around which includes plating up all meals, ensuring the hygiene of the kitchen stays high during and after service and addressing any problems within the kitchen and customer complaints.

During my time at university, I've had the opportunity to work two festivals as a volunteer camera op/runner, Live at Leeds and Deer Shed Festival. These two festivals helped shape my understanding of industry standards and vastly improved my technical skills and knowledge. Live at Leeds was the first gig I had ever worked before and I was tasked as the sole camera operator for the BBC introducing stage. I was a part of a small production team brought in by BBC introducing to cover all the action around their stage. At first, it was very daunting but it was the baptism of fire that made me adapt and learn how to film gigs and working for a client and within a team. Deer Shed Festival I was apart of another small production team with our only objective was to create a promotional video for the festival with no backstage access. I saw this as an opportunity to work on building relationships with the backroom staff to see if we could upgrade our access. After the first day, I got speaking to a runner who then introduced me to the main stage floor manager and I managed to persuade her that upgrading our access would make the film better. With her permission, I got my team full access to the festival.
