My name is Josh Lim and I am a Data Scientist at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP. Ever since I was in adolescence I have enjoyed looking at the bigger picture over smaller details. I started to want to learn more about fundamental concepts. This interest carried on with me into college and led me into majoring in Engineering Physics. I enjoyed learning about this subject because of how easily it applied to everything I did. Whether it was playing sports, playing video games, or even just watching movies, I found myself constantly finding connections to physics. During my junior year of college I found a passion for sustainability and renewable energy. This inspired me to obtain my minor. However, I still wanted to be able to learn about fundamental concepts and see how they were applicable to every day concepts. I started learning about data science and I was instantly in love with the subject. It was similar to physics in the aspect that it was applicable to anything I could imagine. Since learning about data science, I have graduated in a Data Science Immersion Program with Thinkful and have started to build up on my portfolio. My favorite types of projects have included working with supervised learning and creating classification models. I enjoy working with a variety of data sets ranging from the gaming industry, to clean energy and oil. I am proficient in SQL and Python and I am always eager to gain new areas of expertise!
