The business continues to grow and I continue to learn. Since starting the company in 2008, I (and now we) have had the pleasure of supporting remote field projects all across northern Alaska. Our services have evolved to include Expediting, Procurement, and Logistics in support of operational field camps as well as camp construction, commissary staffing, claim staking, guiding, project management, and a variety of other tasks. We now have a seasonal crew that includes myself and up to three or four others depending on project needs. It has been an amazing experience starting this company and I am excited to see where it will grow to next!Update 01/2021: I tend to update this little blurb every few years, and I think it's time for a new one. Wow. 13 years ago I was sitting in my dry cabin attempting to write a business plan and trying to settle on a name. My how things have changed. Thanks to a lot of hard work and the incredible people who have given this company an opportunity to shine, we're now a mainstay in the remote logistics industry in Alaska. I'm not sure I ever really imagined being anything but the "little guy", but now I find myself seeking out the "little guy" in order to provide him or her with opportunities to grow in the industry and help us all do more. This state, this industry, is all one big community and the relationships amongst all of us are what drives it. Can I say I love my job? I do. The work, the customers, the vendors, the adventure, the challenge, and most of all, the employees I'm privileged to work with every day all bring me so much joy. This job is awesome, and my favorite sayings still ring true: "Every year is different, and this year is no different" and "set your future self up for success". Lets go get it! Responsible for management of the remote camp at Little Squaw Creek in the Southern Brooks Range. The camp accommodates 15-25 seasonal workers and guests from spring through fall. My tasks include configuration planning, camp set up and break down, camp equipment maintenance and storage, general up-keep throughout season, expansion and improvement projects, supply logistics, and management of the kitchen, cook, and food inventory.
