The primary role as president is the oversight of all design, manufacturing, and general operations for the club’s yearly activities. From developing the high level goals and timelines to running day-to-day operations and engineering, I lead a team of over 50 active members through the rocket development process from start to finish. As a relatively young club (founded in 2018), we are incredibly proud of the progress made so far and hope to continue the rapid technical progress that has occured in the last few years. For my time in the role, I plan to lead the implementation of brand new in-house propulsion technologies and develop new mentorship programs for younger members.

As the Avionics Team Lead, the primary responsibilities included the design, integration, and management of all electronic and mechanical systems controlling flight, separation, and data collection onboard the coompetition rocket. In this role, I initiated the design and implementation of an air brake system for altitude control; simultaneously, I led the development and programming of a flight computer with multiple sensors and an advanced control system based on live input data and preflight simulations.

I spent time on both the Structures and Payload teams working on a number of different projects in a variety of disciplines. Tasks included composite layups, component manufacturing, electronic construction and implementation, and testing/evalutation.

Working with the Duke Aeroelasticity Group to perform wind tunnel experiments and design new testing equipment.

Professional Experience: 2021 US Senior Open; handle general play at the course for members and guests; taught and facilitated junior golf clinics; customer service, hospitality experience; general duties included carrying golf bags, providing necessary and relevant information to golfers while on the course

Underground (Tunneling) District, District Shop: undertook a variety of projects including design, CAD, budgeting/accounting, marketing, procurement, and manufacturing inspection - Assisted in design and development of a modified jobsite trailer with office space, custom transmission line accessories, and various fuel/oil tanks - Filmed, directed, and edited two marketing videos for notable products, revamped shop catalogOther responsibilities included:-Preparing work plans-Assuring quality control-Managing/tracking costs and materials-Scheduling equipment-Addressing safety problems
