As a child, I always had an interest in law and due process. However, this did not come from a desire to deliver justice to wrongdoers, but to help those most in need. At the time, I saw myself as the perfect candidate for a public defender where the need for additional hands is ever present. And yet, life is never that predictable.Starting my career in Sales and Business seemed like a complete left turn to those around me. However, I quickly noticed my field had a serve lack of individuals with a similar mindset to my own and I learned that the need for public defenders personas was not unique to the field of law. Carving my own path to success came naturally after that.The short answer is Machiavelli was wrong because of one key component: Trust. The key to success lies in compassion and understanding of others to effectively communicate and achieve a common goal.
