As the Chief (Supervisor) of the Structural Engineering Section, I am in charge of recruiting, developing, managing, and maintaining the workload of 15-20 structural engineers in a variety of military and civil works projects and continually developing my skills on the management side of the engineering. In addition, I provide structural engineering technical and Quality Assurance reviews of In House and AE projects.

Work in military projects include lead designer and producer of construction documents for various renovations to and new construction of military buildings, RFP reviews, and analysis of existing structures for new loadings. New building designs include structural steel frame with braced frames, IFC bearing/shear walls, and preliminary PEMB foundation design. In navigation infrastructure projects, work includes but not limited to designer of lock miter gate lifting lugs, miter gate jacking guides, lock wall monolith stability analysis, checker of concrete reinforcement design for lock monolith walls, and inspection of miter gates, tainter gates and chamber walls.

Assisted in the design and production of construction documents for various healthcare, commercial, industrial, recreation, and residential projects including but not limited to Papa John's Cardinal Stadium expansion, UofL Dental School renovation and expansion, multi-unit wood residentual housing for various military bases, and Murray State University dormitory building. Lead designer and producer of construction documents for various projects including but not limited to River City Bank on Bardstown Rd, Home of the Innocents Pediatric Convalescent Center and Shelter Cottage, Baptist Crestwood Medical Center (2011 MediStar Facility Design Award winner), Papa John's Cardinal Stadium expansion X-bracing connection design, foundations for weapons testing equipment, and Ford Motor Co. storage tank support and roof truss modification. Inspected, investigated, and reported on the integrity of steel after an intense fire on a steel structure.Construction documents produced using, AutoCAD, REVIT, and MicroStation. Other work includes teaching and expanding the use of BIM modeling in REVIT and review of shop drawings.
