Process Development and Optimization● Lead engineer to initiate beer reclaim from yeast at 4 breweries to provide$3.5MM in savings, estimated total capital costs of $17MM● Tested and installed hot sparging of chillproofing material in Houston toprovide $100M in savings, total capital costs of $215M● Provided control scheme, temperature gradient survey, and design for aircooling/mixing system in Idaho Falls Malt Plant germination vessels toreduce temperature differences during germination and malt flocculationissues● Solved water softener reliability issues causing stone formation in watersystems in Idaho Falls malt plant● Project Emerald Brewing Engineering Lead, responsible for design andstartup of alternate yeast equipment and process changes to allowproduction of Rolling Rock beer in Newark brewery, provided $39MMadditional revenue at $2.5MM brewing engineering capital● Presented the Latrobe brewing process and capital costs associated withmaking Rolling Rock to senior management● Participated in Best Practice Exchange in Brewing and Malting with GrupoModelo in Mexico City and Calpulalpan which lead to new direction in beerreclaim projects providing an additional $1.4MM in savings● Provided design and information regarding a more efficient humidificationsystem used at Modelo’s Calpulalpan malt plant for germination vesselsNew Products Support and Engineering● Minimized capital costs for implementing new products into existingbreweries (~$100M vs. ~$5MM) during taste trials and market research○ This allowed for much larger focus group and employee testing ofproduct before nationwide launch and large capital spending● Created benchtop scale samples of new products to test sequence ofingredients and sediment formation before large scale batches wereproduced● Managed schedule, inventory and production of all small batch (<32 bbl)production in St. Louis
