I have been producing a number of steel fabrication schemes for nearly 12years; servicing clients within rail (predominantly), water, general construction, highway and nuclear industries. The project values have varied massively from small contracts to million pound plus schemes, all however are always considered equally important. I consider my education, coinciding with the experience gained through practical working, to be paramount to my success in remaining open minded to innovations suggested by key players/parties within their respected industries. Furthermore, recently within the vast industries I operate in a common theme is becoming ever more present; collaborative working along with key player early involvement, here within these schemes my Masters study in BIM & Integrated design has proven to be highly beneficial. It's getting to a point now where I am unable to see how industries carried out works in the "olden days" with only 2D drawings as opposed to an integrated 3D model. The support by my current employer (Harrison's Engineering) with my studies is greatly appreciated.
