Passionate about making a positive impact and addressing food insecurity, I am the Founder of HOME Karawara Food Relief, a highly successful Food Relief Program that provides meals to local people in need. With a lived experience of homelessness, I have transformed my life and now strive to assist vulnerable members of our community to meet their essential need for access to food.Throughout my journey, I have cultivated strong partnerships with organisations including the City of South Perth, SecondBite, Coles Karawara, Royal Perth Golf Club, and IGA Canning Bridge. Together, we have built a robust network to ensure the success and sustainability of our program.Dedicated volunteers form the backbone of HOME Karawara Food Relief. Together, we cook, pack, and deliver approximately 250 meals per week, reaching an estimated 4,500 individuals in need annually. Our program goes beyond providing meals; it fosters a sense of community and facilitates connections to essential services. By ensuring access to nutritious food, we strive to create positive change and improve the well-being of those we serve.In addition to my work with HOME Karawara Food Relief, I am actively involved as a Lived Experience Advocate in the HOME Karawara initiative. Drawing from my personal experiences, I advocate for change, raise awareness, and contribute to community development initiatives. I am constantly seeking opportunities to expand our reach and forge new partnerships to address food insecurity effectively.
