Sales EngineerMidland Deburr And Midland Impregnations Mar 2016 - PresentLye, West MidlandsBeing the Sales engineer for both Midland Deburr and Midland Impregnations I am typically first the person who deals with customers requirements/enquiries so I have to make a good first impression using all my technical experience I gained from being on the shop floor for 4 years and learning all the processes we have to offer.I split my time being in the office dealing with quotations, running trials and out on the road visiting new and existing customers. In the office I deal with giving clients quotations for their requirements and I make sure that they are competitive prices for the customer. I do this by figuring out the process or how many parts we can fit in our machines depending on which shop the requirement is for. I also oversee trial batches of work go through the process making sure each stage is carefully undertaken as I take great pride in my work and solving customers problems. Out on the road I go to anywhere where there is a requirement/potential of work. Visiting companies seeing their processes and understanding how we can help them. Depending on if the customer has samples that I am able to trail I would take samples and run our trials to show them how we can help resolve the issues they are having.I am always learning within this position as well learning new processes the best ways to help customer because at the end of the day each customer is different and I have the responsibility on my shoulders to deliver the best service possible to each customer new or old. -
OperatorMidland Deburr And Midland Impregnations Feb 2012 - Mar 2016Lye, West MidlandsStarting as an apprentice I learnt the different processes Midland Deburr has to offer to resolve customers problem i.e. our Deburring shop and our Solvent Degreasing shop and as we opened Midland Impregnations I was the first person in the company to gain an understanding of the impregnation process along with processing the castings. I started within the Deburring shop undertaking processes of work. This involved operating several machine at once balancing time management while monitoring the compound dosing percentage and the flow of water. I had to do this while maintaining a high level of customer care and achieving the finish the customer wants on a time line to suit the customer. I also had to understand the importance why every process is individual to each customer whether they one job we do or 10 different jobs. Each job has individual times, compounds, media, drying methods etc. this is key to Midland Deburr; providing a service specifically to get rid of customer problems. Within the degreasing it is similar to the deburring shop but I had to learn all methods of jigging components to achieve the best level of cleanliness of customers components. I also had to understand why each job has a specific program in the hard drive of the machine. Understanding the maintenance on the Solvent Degreaser was also key as it is a complex machine. When Midland Impregnations started I was the first operator in the shop using the machines, understanding the machines. As the business progressed I was getting more and more involved with the best way of processing the castings to achieve impregnated and minimized the loss of sealant. Learning all this across the businesses has helped me with the position I am in now as I understand the processes and can tell the customer realistic things we can achieve for them.
