I started my CNC journey at EIT in Erie pa. after graduating from there in 2016 I started working at suburban tool and die where I programmed, set up, and operated a CNC horizontal mill. I also had to order tooling, set up tools required, and measure all tools per job. I had to read blueprints as well as inspect 3d models of parts to check accuracy. I worked there and left just short of 3 years to a better opportunity at Erie bronze and aluminum. I was mostly a CNC operator there but performed set ups as well. after 1 year at Erie bronze I moved on to machining concepts and switched back to 1st shift. At machining concepts I primarily set up jobs but also program parts and operate the mills. I used the cmm, comparator, and height gauges as well as micrometers and calipers to measure parts and check all dimensions of parts. reading and interpreting blue prints is something I am required to do daily. My current job is a 5 axis CNC programmer at the Plastek Group. I am required to use Creo to program, set up, and run parts for plastic molds.
