As co-founder of Tax Traders and Taxi, I'm here to provide ALL New Zealand businesses with radically different approaches to provisional tax and cashflow because we know this leads to greater profitability, improved productivity, and increased confidence. A natural born problem solver, I founded Tax Traders, together with Nicola Taylor, in 2012 to ensure that all New Zealand companies have access to the benefits of the tax pooling framework. Together, with our talented team, we have created the software and technology to make this a reality. We now serve over 800 accountancy firms as well as thousands of corporate and SME clients across the country.But this wasn’t enough. It was during the lockdown of 2021, that we were confronted with the reality that only tiny handful of our biggest companies could use their provisional tax payments to access radically affordable working capital, which meant they could trade through the lockdown. This access was simply not available to 99% of Kiwi businesses as the process was complex, time consuming and expensive. We committed then to creating a way for all Kiwi businesses to access this and are proud to launch Taxi in late February 2024. More than just tax payments and efficiencies, however, is a deep desire to see business operate differently. We know that truly great businesses are driven by purpose and have people at their heart. Therefore, the way we do business is just as important as the bottom line. We seek to practice generosity, “see the person” and cultivate joy in everything we do. This, combined with our practices of innovating courageously to solve problems for which solutions do not yet exist, mean that I am energised every day about what lies in front of me and look forward to our future with confidence.
