About Josh Tobey

I joined the Navy in 2015 when I was 20 years old. I am from Denver and now live in Fort Collins, CO. In the Navy I received formal training in electrical theory, rough-in electrical wiring, power generation, motor repair and maintenance, pole climbing and high voltage cable splicing. I earned my OSHA 10 hour and 30 hour cards after attending the Navy's Safety Supervisor Course and became a safety supervisor. I was promoted to E-5 and became a team leader, project supervisor, and a facilities manager at my last station in San Diego. Since I separated from the Navy, I have learned how to program using SQL, Python, Java, R and MATLAB. I possess a wide array of skills from data cleaning, transformation, enrichment, visualization and building machine learning models for predictive analysis. I am interested in machine learning operations and applications to cyber security, geospatial analysis and quantum computing. I am currently attending Colorado State University studying Data Science with a Computer Science concentration. GO RAMS!
