Fort Carson, Co/ Djibouti

Commanded 4th Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne), a 400-man unit with two deployments to the Horn of Africa. Partnered with eight East African nations and U.S. Embassy country teams. Led effort to re-establish new mil-to-mil security cooperation agreement with Tanzania and gained Defense Secretary permission to conduct new missions in sensitive areas of East Africa.

Camp Smith, Hawaii

Led strategic planning efforts to counter-terror, security assistance and other special operations activities across the INDO-PACOM region. During this assignment, deployed to U.S. Embassy, Jakarta, Indonesia for one year as the senior SOF advisor to the US Ambassador. In this capacity, responsible for re-establishing a critical US mil-to-mil relationship with Indonesia’s premier special operations force. Additionally, while assigned to SOCPAC, deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom - Afghanistan.

Camp Marmal, Afghanistan

Provided strategic military advice to U.S. and German military commands on all aspect of the Afghanistan Peace and Reintegration Program (APRP), resulting in the reintegration of more than 1,000 former insurgents in Northern Afghanistan. Worked with Provincial Governors and staff, Afghan Security Forces, German and Allied partners and others to develop lasting reintegration solutions.

Operations Officer: Directed operations and training for a 2,500-man Special Forces Group with a PACOM focus and operations spanning the globe.Battalion Executive Officer: Served as Special Operations Task Force Commander, Deputy Commander and Operations Officer during this Operation Enduring Freedom-Philippines deployment. Focused on identifying and disrupting links between terrorist networks. Worked as part of a team that successfully prosecuted hundreds of radicalized extremists.Company Commander: Led a Special Forces company during Operation Iraqi Freedom-V. Led combat operations with combined U.S. and Iraqi forces. Developed first surrogate “Iraqi-citizen Neighborhood Watch” in al Hilah, with new funding authorities; highlighted as a “new example” by the ASD/SO/LIC to congress in 2007.
