Barque is a startup company specializing in new technologies and engineering services not limited to but focused in the Marine industry. The flexible structure of Barque allowed me to assume a multitude of roles as they were required. Some examples are as follows.Work Pack Construction Levis, QCWas integral in constructing a method for work pack distribution to the workers. A workpack included instructions and the appropriate drawings or tables attached. We were to build pipe/cable laying ships.- Used Excel and Matlab heavily to sort large inventory lists extracted from Microsoft Access.- Had an intimate understanding of ship construction and its code conventions.- Worked with and understood autocad drawings.Project LeadMontreal, QCLed a small team of EIT’s to assist in the design of a Sulphur Dioxide exhaust solution system for the Marine world. Challenges included.- Did design calculations, including flow calculations, heat distribution and pump sizing.- Called various suppliers and procured the items used in design. Some including, valves, pumps, sensor arrangements up to the piping and steel used in fabrication.- Ran testing and extracted data from constructed prototypes.

The objective of Project Gabriel was alternative wind turbine designs. Testing was done onsite via wind tunnel and iterated with a 3D printer. While wind power was the focus, we also helped clients realize products and designs.Examples include:- Designed a logic circuit for an automatic door mechanism. Close detection by means of accelerometer- Constructed and automated a product assembly line for bra strap holders.- Sensor array and data retrieval system for diesel run sulfur scrubber design. Included temperature probes, pressure sensors and anemometers.- Wrote several software tools, from data basing utilities to a blade profile designer/renderer for printing in the 3D printer.- Automated wind tunnel. Software and hardware design.
