Cohaus is a community of people living in a twenty-unit housing development in Grey Lynn, Auckland. We designed and financed the buildings ourselves.Our vision was to build affordable housing using smart design and innovative technology to create a community where it’s easy to live comfortably while minimising resource use.I oversee and manage the private network utilities that we have at Cohaus including- electricity supply including a large shared PV array (48,000kWh annual generation)- private network fibre internet- centralised heat pump hot water system optimised for PV self-use/thermal energy storage- shared vehicle fleet- smart metering & billing- tariff optimisation & financial modeling
