I'm learning and improving every day, striving to take effective and innovative approaches to public and non-profit service to maximize the impacts of our most vital community institutions. I am proud to serve the City of New Bedford as the Director of the Office of Housing & Community Development, leading an excellent team devoted to responding to community needs, developing housing & public facilities, alleviating homelessness, and supporting non-profit and economic development services.I previously worked as Assistant Executive Director at the local community action agency PACE from 2018-2022, an organization that impacts areas ranging from early childhood and adult education to health, housing, food, and other basic needs supports. PACE provides an effective safety net for over 30,000 people, serves as a valuable economic engine in Greater New Bedford, and is a hub for civic engagement, advocacy, and public policy. Previously, I led family support programs in urban elementary schools and coordinated workforce development programs for young adults.I graduated as a Commonwealth Scholar from UMass Dartmouth, with a B.A. in Political Science and Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Public Management. I'm a product of public schools and a proud graduate of New Bedford High School. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to serve my community on the New Bedford School Committee for eight years, winning election as the youngest official in the city's history. I continue to stay active in the community and volunteer with several non-profit organizations and community initiatives. I am a lifelong New Bedford resident, and currently reside in the city with my wife Sharon, son Jack, and our dog Carly.
