Lead Engineer for Avalara Account, an application that allows customers to manage their relationship with Avalara...View and pay invoices, review their product usage, manage support issues, etc. This application is built with an Express.js API server and React/Redux and styled-components for the client.

Developed Avalara LandedCost for determining international product classification and customs duties. Used Node.js, Express, and MySQL on the server, with React/Flux on the client. Utilized the Stanford NLP Classifier and POS tagger to build an AI to assist in product classification, but determined the classification datasets were too large and poorly structured for accurate automation. Pivoted to a UI that guided users through manual product classification. This project has since been integrated into the Avalara AvaTax engine.Built initial release of developer.avalara.com for documenting Avalara product APIs, using Jekyll CMS and React/Redux UI to visualize swagger documentation. Implemented full CI/CD process where code commits trigger a fully automated build/test/deploy process that requires no manual intervention.
