As a civil engineer, I’m responsible for the design, project management, and construction administration for the Three Rivers Park District’s infrastructure. Projects include roadway, trail, and parking lot reconstruction and maintenance. I’m responsible to evaluate and procure consulting and construction services for the projects.I’m responsible for the implementation of trail crossing design requirements to ensure safety and consistency throughout the Park District’s Regional Trail System. Managing the District’s trail crossings includes collaboration with municipalities and consultants to reach agreements on crossing layouts and signage that is constant with Park District and municipality requirements.

My experience includes site design with the private sector, public sector, and Department of Defense. I've completed a variety of projects in more than 18 states and in Japan. Projects vary in size from small one acre sites to large 100 plus acre developments. As the director of the civil engineering department, I was responsible for the technical standards, managing departmental resources, providing design guidance, ensuring quality of our deliverables, and mentoring other professionals in the department. I implemented procedures to track the accuracy of our proposals, improve communication of project schedules and budgets to the department and project managers, and developed the outline for the monthly directors/management meeting. I developed an efficient civil work plan document for planning and tracking the civil hours on each project. I emphasized a team environment that utilizes everyone’s individual strengths to create an exceptional team.
