As the sixth employee at a small agency, I grew into my current role as the company grew. I started out as a full-stack developer working on the company’s first custom app and full CMS builds on Laravel, but primarily I was engulfed in the world of Magento.I passed the Magento Certified Front End Developer exam at the end of my first year. A year and a half later and I passed the Magento Certified Developer exam during the 2016 Imagine conference. Two years after that I became a Magento 2 Certified Front End Developer, one of the very first to pass that particular exam after its release. Another year and a half after and I took and passed the exam to become a Magento 2 Certified JavaScript Developer.I’ve been the senior front end developer ever since I started at Swarming, but over time as our team has grown, I’ve become more of an actual lead. From conducting interviews with potential candidates to acting as a resource, escalation point, and mentor for my fellow team members, I have found myself maturing into more than simply being a senior developer. I manage not only my own tasks, but assist in managing tasks of my fellow front end devs and seeing them through to completion by providing guidance and thorough code review.In addition to working on new builds and support projects, part of my job includes maintaining and improving our underlying internal toolset to create a more cohesive environment and improved workflow for all new builds while also providing maintenance to improve upon previous builds.Tools and skills used include:- JIRA for project management- Bitbucket/Github for repository hosting- Tower and Terminal for working with Git version control- Sequel Pro for database management- Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch and InVision for working with designs- Browserstack for cross-browser testing and validation- LESS with Grunt for compiling and SCSS with Compass for compiling- JavaScript, CSS3, HTML5 and PHP

- Served as full stack developer and worked closely project managers and in-house designer.- Created complete front and back end custom CMS builds on the CodeIgniter framework.- Majority of the front end builds were created using either Bootstrap or Foundation as the base framework.- Introduced to Magento platform by working on a redesign of Riddell.com which also included an in-depth Wordpress integration.

- Brought on as a front end developer to help improve the ecommerce shopping experience for some of Grainger’s child company sites.- Two month contract but turned into an endless offer to stay on.- Designed, developed and tested weekly email marketing campaigns, working closely with copywriters.- Took lead of improving development practices, cleaning up product images, and creating page and email templates for the team to use.

- Continued to work with Broadjam, serving as graphic designer in a part-time capacity.- Ran my own business freelancing full-time as a designer and developer.- Grew business and gained clients simply from word of mouth.- Used wide array of skills to meet the web and print needs of my clients.- I’ve always done some freelance work on the side, and technically I’ve been building websites for clients since 2004 when I was still in high school, but during these years it was my full-time job.

- Provided the company with all graphic needs.- Web Designs tasks included member website templates, web ads and banners, landing page designs, buttons, icons, etc.- Print Designs tasks included fliers, magazine ads, sales sheets, t-shirt designs, shareholder report, etc.- Served as Flash developer. Built BroadjamTV video player and worked on iterations of the Broadjam audio player.
