Josh Cederstrom is hydrologist/water resources engineer working for HDR in Phoenix, Arizona as a Transportation Drainage EIT. He received his B.S. and M.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering in December 2019 and 2021, respectively. While completing his B.S. Josh's interest in water resources management began with internships for the USDA and Freeport McMoRan doing work such as data collection, field work, and modelling. During his M.S., Josh collaborated with the local water management agency, the Salt River Project through the Joint Research Program (JRP) at ASU. The project looked to further our scientific understanding of climate change and forest thinning impacts within the Salt-Verde watershed by focusing on the Beaver Creek sub-basin of the Verde River. The work included simulations using the TIN-based Real-time Integrated Basin Simulator (tRIBS). After graduation Josh began working for HDR where he has been involved with a wide variety of water resources projects in Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado including large scale watershed models using rain-on-grid methodology in HEC-RAS 2D, on and offsite hydrology, site design for culverts and street drainage using AutoCAD Civil 3D and OpenRoads, and construction quantities and cost estimates.
