Sep-Dec 2012 MBA Dissertation: Dynamic Capabilities, Strategy & Value Creation in the Commercial Airline Industry: Utilised extensive strategy knowledge and research with particularly focus on the Dynamic Capability View (DCV) of strategy to investigate incumbent airlines responses to the entry of low cost carriers. An analysis of the firms's ability to adapt, absorb knowledge and innovate was performed to evaluate the value creation of these strategies. Subsequently recommendations were proposed to contest low cost rivals. The study also identified specific dynamic capabilities that firms should focus on in order to differentiate and create/maintain competitive advantage in today's rapidly evolving business environment.
