In the Summer of 2000, working for a small start-up that developed PVC-Free medical products, I developed a passion for protecting the environment and human health through innovative material science. In 2004, I was able to purchase the company and moved it into a historic mill building in Gonic, NH.Opportunity for innovation came in 2006 when Kaiser Permanente announced they planned to eliminate vinyl from the upholstery fabrics used on their furniture. LDI successfully developed EnviroLeather™️ as a high performance replacement for vinyl and the company became a founding member of Kaiser’s Sustainable Fabric Alliance in 2008.I continue to run the day-to-day operations with the LDI team, now in our own facility in my hometown of Rochester, NH.
