Responsible for the overall coordination and execution of wilderness canoe trips for 15 and 16 year old participants. Oversaw the development of canoe routes, meal and equipment planning, as well as communication and emergency preparedness.Tasks included interviewing and hiring of 12 staff, training and supervising, and managing the program. One of the main responsibilities was working above the team of 12 outrippers to fully prepare each trip for their adventure. The preparation process lasted four weeks.

Facilitated a 28-day canoe trip for 15 year old participants through the back-lakes of Lake of the Woods, Ontario with a junior partner.The trip consisted of 28 days of paddling and portaging through 20+ lakes, completing roughly 320 miles and 40 portages. As a senior outtripper, I was required to plan a 28 day menu, coordinate quantities for all meals, navigate using a map and compass, build and cook over an open campfire, safely identify adequate camping locations, administer first aid as required, provide opportunities for leadership engagement and create a positive learning environment for the eight young men on the trip.

This has enhanced my risk management skills as well as improved qualities such as patience and appreciation of nature.
